TAS Workshop

Theatre Association of Seychelles (TAS) in collaboration with the National Arts Council (NAC) and the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts (NCPA) is today conducting a workshop on the basic techniques of teaching drama at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles (ICCS) for the arts teachers.

The objective of such said Mr Angelin Marie, Chairperson of TAS is that they are expecting for the teachers to be fully equipped with the basic technique of how to teach theatre to the children.

A total number of thirty four (34) teachers participated in the workshop, which is being facilitated by Mr Kurt Lagrenade from the NCPA.

In his opening remark, the CEO of the National Arts Council, Mr Jimmy Savy expressed the importance of arts to the society. He emphasized on the necessity for arts education to be recognized and rightly respected in the school curriculum.

He stated that theatre helps us to see ourselves and to understand what it means to be human. Finally Mr Savy concluded that theatre will teach the children on how to express themselves more effectively and develop their ability to communicate.
