Today the NACC’s Craft Section started a ‘Coconut Handicraft Workshop’ at the Seychelles Institute of Technology (SIT) with a group of 10 young students with the aim of developing artisanal activities in the country through knowledge sharing of cultural practices.
One of the main objectives of this programme is to disseminate the knowledge, skills and techniques in using coconut for creating innovative structures.
The workshop facilitator Mr. Florent Servina began with teaching the students how to de-husk coconuts and formation of animal characters.
